Engineers Without Borders - San Francisco Professional chapter's fifth annual fundraising gala, SFari 2012, will take place Saturday, November 3 at 111 Minna Gallery. The evening will feature project exhibits, music, and raffle and silent auction prizes.
EWB-SFP is currently engaged in six community development projects. Proceeds from SFari will be used to: - Help our Appropriate Technology Design Team finalize designs for a farming trellis in Afghanistan and wind turbine in Guatemala. - Complete the implementation of water supply and sanitation projects in El Salvador. - Build new water distribution systems and biosand filtration systems in Fiji. - Finish construction of a 3000 square foot structure to house a full service medical clinic in the Bayonnais Valley of Haiti. - Install drinking water pumps and distribution systems in Honduras and Kenya after having drilled wells in 2012. - Monitor our projects in Tanzania, including construction of a health dispensary and water distribution system (for which EWB-SFP won a Premier Project Award from EWB-USA in 2012).
