Historical Homes and Landmark Tour in Haverstraw - Presented by The Historical Society of Rockland County
The Historical Society of Rockland County has had a long tradition in putting on Historical House Tours, going back 40 years.  This year's self-guided tour offers a look at historically significant buildings of Haverstraw (including 3 on the National Register of Historic Places) together with eclectic and charming residences.  Join us in this warm and welcoming village.  As has been the case in the past, this tour is a fund-raising event for the Society and at the same time it promotes awareness of local history and our beautiful built environment which is part of the mission of The Historical Society of Rockland County.

Tickets are $35 prior to the event and $40 on the day of the tour.  

Check-in will take place at the Village Hall in Haverstraw located at 40 New Main Street.  Parking can be found in the municipal parking lot across the street.

The tour will take place primarily in the village of Haverstraw and can be done entirely on foot for those hearty participants. For those less adventurous, street parking can be found on most streets.

Please refrain from eating, drinking and/or chewing gum while visiting tour stops.  Tour-goers are asked to wear soft-soled shoes as a courtesy to the homeowners.

There are lovely restaurants along the route where guests can enjoy a meal.  Come out and make a day of it and support the Historical Society of Rockland County!

Haverstraw is a town in Rockland County, New York, United States, located north of the Town of Clarkstown and the Town of Ramapo; east of Orange County, New York; south of the Town of Stony Point; and west of the Hudson River. The town runs from the west to the east border of the county in its northern part.  The name comes from the Dutch word Haverstroo meaning "Oat Straw", referring to the grasslands along the river. The town contains three villages, one of which is also known as Haverstraw. Haverstraw village is the original seat of government for the town, hosting the area's historic central downtown business district and the densest population in northern Rockland County.
