Barrels & Kegs: A Rockaway Beach Beer Event
Beer Sessions Radio and Edible Queens celebrate the tradition of surfing and the food of the Rockaway Boardwalk with Barrels & Kegs: A Rockaway Beach Beer Event.
Tickets ($28) will be available on site. Non-beer drinkers may accompany ticket holders into the concessions area. Additional $10 (5-pour) tickets will also be available for purchase on site. To get to the event via MTA, take the A train (to Far Rockaway) and exit at Broad Channel; hop on the Shuttle and exit at any of the first three stops (90th, 98th or 105th).
Ticket holders will have access to three beer concessions (at 86th, 96th and 106th Streets) for 20 beer samples (4 oz. pours) from confirmed breweries:
*Sixpoint*Greenport Harbor*Ommegang*Bronx Brewery*Kelso of Brooklyn*Coney Island/Shmaltz Brewing*Long Ireland*Founders*Brooklyn Brewery *Blue Point*Wandering Star*Barrier Brewing*and the newest local brewer, Rockaway Brewing... with others TBA.
Check in at any beer concession area, where you will exchange your ticket for a wristband, cup and punch card. Enjoy between 5-8 tastes at your check-in point, walk along the boardwalk and catch some waves, drop in to buy food at Rippers (the joint venture of Roberta's and Brooklyn Kitchen), head to another beer concession for more sampling, purchase your second course at Rockaway Taco or Caracas Arepa or any of the other amazing Rockaway boardwalk dining spots, and then finish off with more great craft beer! Ticket price ($28) includes 20 beer samples. Food and additional drinks available for purchase. $1 from each ticket benefits the Ray Deter Memorial Fund.
