The Walt Wagner Centennial Concert

The Tukwila Historical Society and the Tukwila Arts Commission are co-sponsoring a performance by pianist and composer Walt Wagner at the Foster Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 7:30 PM. The 2008 Centennial called 'TUKWILA LIFE' recognizes Walt's contribution to the arts in this showcase concert event.

Walt Wagner is a graduate of Foster High School and former resident of Tukwila. A prolific composer, Walt writes much of the music for his concert and club appearances. He was featured for two years at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival at the University of Idaho performing the opening pair of concerts for their Four Seasons of Jazz series. He toured internationally with Peggy Flemming in A Concert on Ice. Walt has completed some notable recordings with powerful interpretations of Chariots of Fire by Vangelis and another CD release dedicated to the music of Pink Floyd called In the Pink. Join us for Walt's return visit to his hometown as he performs his greatest piano jazz and pop improvisations to help commemorate Tukwilas 100-year celebration.
