An Almanac for Farmers and Lovers in Mexico
Kate Tarker's An Almanac for Farmers and Lovers in Mexico, tells the story of Flora, an American ex-pat living in San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico, with her fiance, Pele. Trouble is, it's three days before their wedding, and Pele has turned into a bird. Flora's trying everything she can think of to turn him back, diving deep into governmental bureacracy and raising the ire of a persnickity judge, but nothing seems to be working. Meanwhile, her friends are trying to keep themselves together while they help her get the wedding together- or they would, if they could find the place first.
