Oklahoma Victory Dolls Roller Derby hosts a Double Header!
In the first bout, the Oklahoma Victory Dolls All Star Squad, #12 in the South Central Region, will be battling #11 Duke City Derby's Munecas Muertas from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The first time these two teams met was just January of this year at the Governor's Cup tournament in Dallas, TX. Duke City beat the OKVD All Stars by 23 points. The bracket ended up having Duke City and OKVD bout again the following day which then Duke City destroyed OKVD 236-84. Needless to say, OKVD has been waiting to meet up with Duke City again and want to jump up ahead of DCD within the Women's Flat Track Derby (WFTDA) rankings.
After the All Star Squad bout, watch the OKVD Battle Squad. This line up of skaters made their debut on July 14th, where they won their bout against Oklahoma City Roller Derby Lightning Broads in the last jam by 1 point. This batch of Victory Dolls are not to be underestimated.
Tickets are $13 in advance and are available at OKC and Norman Guestroom Records locations (http://guestroom-records.com/), Switchblade Skate Co. (www.switchbladeskate.com) or online at brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are $15 at the door. Kids under 12 get in FREE with a paid adult.
Beer can be purchased with a valid ID. Seating is available on a first come first serve basis and you are welcome to bring your own chair.
The Oklahoma Victory Dolls are OKC's premier WFTDA member-league and a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, focusing on sportsmanship and giving back to the community. A portion of the proceeds from the bout will benefit Beautiful Dream Society. This organization works to abolish present day injustice in Lesotho and Southern Africa. They raise awareness and offer rehabilitation services to rescued victims of human trafficking. Please visit www.beautifuldream.tv for more information.
