Workshop with Bob Dassie: Duoprov! (SF Improv Fest 2012)
In a two person show? Thinking about starting one? Just want to hone your one-on-one skills?
This workshop concentrates on initiating strong scenes, playing in the moment, reacting to your partner and exercising good scene-work skills. We'll work on creating a solid foundation on which to build from and then sustaining scenes by exploring relationship and character while exploring the dynamic of a two-person show.
Bob Dassie Bio Bob began his improv career in Chicago and has studied with many improv luminaries such as Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell and Del Close. He has performed and taught improv all over the world, from New York to Los Angeles, from Singapore to Scotland. Over the years he has been involved with several influential groups including the improvised musical Baby Wants Candy, The Armando Show and WeirDass. He can currently be seen performing with Dasariski at the UCB Theater and Quartet at the IOWest, both in Los Angeles. Bob has popped up on television from time to time most recently on HBO's Funny or Die Presents: as one of The Carpet Brothers alongside Tim Meadows, David Spade and Will Ferrell and also in this season's finale of NBC's Community. And if you saw Will Ferrell's "House of my Father", you may have seen Bob as a heavily wigged, mustachioed musical marauder of sorts.
