The Nashville Legends: Johnny Cash and Friends (1950-90s)
Join archivist Bill Shelley for a one-night-only event of rare performances by the legendary artists of country music, featuring Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe, Linda Ronstadt, Tammy Wynette, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Roy Clarke, Carl Perkins, Loretta Lynn, The Everly Brothers, George Jones, Kenny Rogers, Eric Anderson, Hank Williams Jr., Gram Parsons & The Flying Buritto Brothers, and lots more!

The Nashville Legends program celebrates the glorious richness of the Nashville sound combined with the older country tradition of Bill Monroe ("Blue Moon of Kentucky"), a medley of Johnny Cash's top hits, Linda Ronstadt with "Long, Long Time" and "You're No Good," Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man," Waylon Jennings'  "Mothers, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys," Hank Williams Jr's. "The Conversation," Willie Nelson with "Crazy," and "On the Road Again," and MUCH, much more. The program showcases the talent and varied styles of country performers who became Nashville Legends. Nashville, Tennessee, has long been regarded as the country music capitol of the U.S.A. Musicians regard Nashville's studios as a sacred place in the recording industry, where every kind of musical form has been recorded from country, bluegrass, folk, blues, and rock to jazz. Numerous artists have found their fame in Nashville, and tonight the Cinema Arts Centre pays tribute to those great artists with this exciting event featuring rare footage from concerts, television shows, studio rehersals, and out-takes of countless country music legends. Don't miss such greats as Roy Clarke, Carl Perkins, Loretta Lynn, The Everly Brothers, George Jones, Kenny Rogers, Tammy Wynette, Bill Monroe, Eric Anderson, Gram Parsons & The Flying Buritto Brothers, and lots more! This will be a lively night of guitar picking, fast banjo-playing, and sad soulful singing. Don't miss out.
