Portland DIVERSE: A Summer Jam Party With Mayoral Candidate Jefferson Smith
Shaping up to be the most unique Portland event of Summer '12, Portland DIVERSE will keep it live all night with hot tracks from Ghana's DJ Solo, Sierra Leone's own DJ Dullah, and a featured set by the great NW DJ Juggernaut.
There will be catered food from Northern Ghana for the first 100 guests, so make sure to arrive early to get your grub on.
The attire is 'Red Carpet, Portland Style" - dress in something fly, dashing or daring - make sure to represent for the two photographers that will be roaming the crowd.
Generous sponsors Migration Brewing (http://migrationbrewing.com/) & Oakshire Brewing (http://oakbrew.com/) will be providing some of the best micro-brew on the planet, there will be plenty of top-shelf wine flowing imported from Eastern Europe, and local distilleries (TBA) will keep the place in good spirits with handcrafted cocktails.

The event space is an awe-inspiring environment, with all kinds of installation and other art scattered tastefully across the premises. In addition to the expansive main room, there are side lounges with pool tables, couches and more. This event is a party for the people of our city with Portland Mayoral hopeful, Jefferson Smith (http://jeffersonsmith.com/). Unlike any other candidate for the position, Jefferson represents ALL of Portland. Rather than turning his back on the majority of the city and focusing only on high-dollar donors, Jefferson is connecting all peoples of the town; North, NE, East, SE, SW & NW. A graduate of Beaumont, Grant High School, University of Oregon & Harvard Law, he is currently a state representative for the east-side District 47. In fact, if elected, he would be the first mayor ever from east of 82nd Ave in Portland, which is why many call him the "East-Side Champ." In reality, he represents every sector of Portland, and events such as this are indicative of his leadership style and vision for Portland as a whole.
This gala event is not financed one cent by the campaign and is 100% volunteer driven. How much does that say to you? How much does that say about our city and our next leader? 100% Portland!
