Green Business Happy Hour
Join us Wednesday, August 8th at 5:30 for Green America's Green Business Happy Hour, hosted by Green America's Green Business Network director, Denise Hamler. Is there a Solar Co-op in your neighborhood? We'll showcase local solar initiatives that are providing clean, green energy solutions to area residents, businesses and non-profits, AND providing green jobs. Come and hear how you can PLUG-IN to the solar revolution, and avoid the next BLACK-OUT! The event is FREE to attend; we will hear from each of our speakers, and we will also serve organic beer, wine, and snacks. Our speakers are:-Anya Schoolman, DC Solar United Neighborhoods (DC SUN) and Mt Pleasant Solar Co-op. In response to DC SUN's success, Anya created the Community Power Network. The Network is currently helping folks in VA and MD build VA SUN and MD SUN.-Atta Kiarash, Solar Solution Managing Partner, the largest PV installer in the region. -Emily Stiever, Program Director for Community Power Network - a resource organization to help people in the MD, DC and VA area go solar. -Our Green America staff will talk about how more and more people are going solar by leasing their roof -- and how MD residents can get solar on their roof with a no-money down lease.
