Velvet Goldmine: Bowie Club

Join us for the return of Velvet Goldmine, a brand new club night and sensory experience dedicated to the legacy and genius of David Bowie and associated artists. Taking place in the exquisite events space at the Drygate, you'll be taken on a journey through the decades, from the glam rock era of Ziggy Stardust to The Thin White Duke and beyond. DJ Paul Puppet will be leading the night playing an eclectic mix of Bowie favourites and hidden gems, all intertwined with live music and performances throughout the night.

** DJ **
DJ Paul Puppet will be on the decks playing a plethora of classic and rare tracks, along with music from Bowie's peers, collaborators and artists who share a stylistic or thematic link.
** LIVE MUSIC **
Aberdeen-based band, Stanley, will be playing two live sets for your aural pleasure. They were unable to play at our launch night back in August, due to their van breaking down on the motorway, but they're back with a vengeance and will undoubtedly go down a storm!
** PERFORMANCES **
Were excited to have a number of performances spread out throughout the night. Stay tuned for a full act lineup!
** VISUALS **
The eye candy of the night will of course be of the man himself! Non-stop visuals will be on display showing clips of Bowie throughout his spectacular career.

** BEST DRESSED COMPETITION **
David Bowie was unarguably fashions king of self-invention. A dapper gentleman and a stylish freak, he was as much a fashion innovator as a musical vanguard who raised eyebrows and launched trends. For Bowie, clothes were a way of projecting self-expression, a powerful tool in communicating individuality at its most extreme, glittering and creative.
We'd love to see you inject some of that creativity into your own outfits and channel your inner Bowie, whatever the era! Of course you don't have to dress up if you don't want to, but there will be a best dressed prize if you do!

** GLAMIFICATION STATION **
Left the house in a hurry and forgot to paint on that iconic lightning bolt? Or perhaps you ran out of red glitter hair spray. Not a problem! Our team of hair and makeup experts will be on hand to give you a quick sprucing up and inject a little stardust into your lady grinning soul!
** PHOTOBOOTH **
A chance to show off those amazing outfits and have your image frozen in time with an effigy of the man himself!
