The State of Black Girls: A Conference for EveryBlackGirl
Join us for a day of workshops and stay for the EBG Dance!

The State of Black Girls is for all youth 13-21 years old to come learn, connect and have FUN! Our workshops will engage you in art, theater, dance, organizing and BUILDING A BETTER FUTURE FOR BLACK GIRLS!

If it is not enough- we have a team of AMAZING Workshop Facilitators from across the country to bring us the BEST workshops!

1.Use what you know: designing with an idea and art supplies: Not everyone knows a graphic designer or how to use design programs. Lack of access should never stop you from creating interesting and useful designs for events, fundraising or infographics. Learn how to use everyday items to make your next graphic designs.

2.The Turn-Up Factor: This workshop will focus on some of the basics Community Organizing; how to identify targets, craft demands, and escalate when those demands aren't met.

3. Art + Action: Portraying our Present and Creating our Future- This session will expose participants to ways that the arts can be used to design innovative solutions to societal issues. Through a communal decision-making process, they will craft a short performance piece using theatre, dance, poetry and music to explore their personal histories and imagine future possibilities.

4. The Intersections of Black Girl Magic: This workshop will focus on intersectionality and the importance of understanding systems of oppression as a means to dismantle and rebuild. As black girls and young women, it is important we know the obstacles standing against us and how we can use our knowledge of both our oppressions and privielges to help each other fight and heal.
