Halloween Costumes are very much encouraged.
Chibi Kodama is the Cullimore family. A homeschooling family of 7 making big, fun music.
Yvonne and John, (mom and dad) and 5 little girls ages 1 through 13(Aletheia, Adaryn, Chasah, Story, and Saoirse.) Together they make big, high energy electronic rock that the whole family can enjoy.
Hailing from West Tennessee, Chibi Kodama sings anthems of the highs and lows of growing up, being a grown up, and all of the crazy life in between. Though their songs begin in the mind of Dad, the whole family has a say in what stays and what goes. If it's not hitting both the emotions as well as drawing up the desire to dance, it really has no business in the set list. Because, at the end of the day, this music is the soundtrack of a family's life. Every song is birthed from that all too precious roller coaster.
In the practical, the focus of the music is primarily on emotional health, both as individuals as relating to one another. There is much discussion of insecurities, victories, failures, and the ever present need to laugh at our flaws together in order to keep moving forward. A Chibi Kodama is a special experience. The whole family is involved. (though the 4-year-old insists that she's not in the band) We dance, laugh, play and do the very best that we can in order to leave the concert-goers with something special that they'll remember for a long while.
We encourage the audience to bring their own air instrument to rock out along with the show, and we absolutely love getting time to talk to young and old about all the crazy things we're singing about.
Since 2013, we've been honing our skills at making the music that WE want to hear. It all started with Dad wanting to make some good, encouraging rock and roll for his girls. Drawing on his love for early 90's grunge and pop punk like Weezer, Green Day and Smashing Pumpkins, he crafted their first album, Tiny, Magical People. But, over time, folk started encouraging them to perform it. Performance has definitely caused the family to rethink how they write and interact, with each succeeding album getting more and more energetic and concert friendly. The kids are working on learning instruments for themselves, but in the mean time, Dad works the music magic and the family lends their voices and wacky dancing to the stage.
