Tony Grey's Galactic Duo w/ Special Guest Josh Cohen
World class bassist and educator, Tony Grey will be coming to the MopCo Theater, 10 North Jay Street in Schenectady, NY for a performance and master class, on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 7:00pm. In addition to the master class, Tony will be performing with his Bass and Drum duet, Galactic Duo. Joining Tony, for another master class, will be the internationally acclaimed solo bassist, Josh Cohen.
Tony Grey successfully auditioned for a scholarship to the world-renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. While at Berklee, Tony joined the newly formed pop band Bliss. Tony spent 18 months touring Asia, recording three hit singles, filming MTV videos, and achieving a Top Ten CD. Tony left the group in order to return to the USA to complete his studies at Berklee, graduating in 2001 with the prestigious Outstanding Performer Award.
Tony has gone on to record and perform with some of the worlds greatest musicians, including John McLaughlin, Hiromi, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dennis Chambers, Bill Evans, Reeves Gabrels & Jason Cooper (The Cure), Wayne Krantz, Steve Lukather (Toto), Branford Marsalis, Ice-T, Dave Holland, Kenwood Dennard (Sting/Miles Davis), Russell Ferrante (The YellowJackets), David Fiuczynski (Screaming Headless Torsos/Meshell Ndegeocello), and countless more.
In 2004, Tony had the great honor of performing at New Yorks Lincoln Centre with David Nichterns band Drala for his holiness the Dali Lama.
Tony produced and released his first album, Moving in 2004, Chasing Shadows in 2008, and Unknown Angels in 2010. In 2013 he released Elevation, featuring John McLaughlin, Tomoyasu Hotei, Mike Stern, Mino Cinelu, Reb Beach, and David Fiuczynski.

Josh Cohen is a 6-string electric bassist, composer, session musician, songwriter and music educator based in Toronto, Canada and travels frequently throughout the United States to perform and teach clinics/workshops. Josh has performed with many notable musicians/artists including; Ted Quinlan, Mark Kelso, Nick Brownman Ali, Zander Zon, Gary Karr, Alex Tanas of Magic, El Cata, Raghav, Fito Blanko, Luis Orbegoso, Terry Sylvester of the Hollies, God Made Me Funky, and many others.
Joshs solo electric bass arrangement of Herbie Hancocks Chameleon was ranked as the number 1 bass video of 2015 by the leading online magazine for bass players, No Treble.
Josh holds a bachelor of music from Humber College and a masters in music composition from York University.
