Sarah Borges / Scott Miller
Change is something that takes a little getting used to. If you need proof of this, ask the soulful singer-songwriter SARAH BORGES. After a long and successful stint with her band, The Broken Singles, 2011 marked the bands breakup and Sarah embarking on a solo career. Whether it be through performances or her writing, Massachusetts native Borges has learned to dazzle  and do it well. That ability can be heard all over her 2014 Radio Sweetheart album, as well as her latest release,  Good and Dirty EP. She attributes that ability to a very eclectic sound, which she comes by naturally, she says, I would say that my sound is straight up rock and roll, but its the sum total of what my record collection looks like. The new record is certainly more Americana than the last record was. Its also more rock than the last record. I would say that its a version of the live shows  a lot of loud guitars and loud singing. You can certainly dance to it.

For Good and Dirty EP, Borges received some all-star help in the producers chair. I got to work with Eric Roscoe Ambel who has such a great track record  Steve Earle, Bottle Rockets, Joan Jett. I had met him through some mutual friends. Hes producing and playing guitar on it.

SCOTT MILLER came into the national spotlight in the mid nineties as leader of the Knoxville-based band The V-Roys; signed and produced by Steve Earle for his E-Squared label. After releasing two critically acclaimed albums, The V-Roys disbanded. Miller then signed to Sugar Hill Records and released several highly praised recording with his new backing band, The Commonwealth.  Most recently he has recorded and released music through his own F.A.Y. Records label.

The last few years have seen big changes for Miller. He left his long-time adopted home city of Knoxville, TN to return to the family farm to tend a herd of beef cattle, look after his elderly parents and set up a new touring base from his hometown of Staunton, VA. During this time of transition and scaled down touring, Miller teamed up with old-time fiddle maven Rayna Gellert adding another sonic layer to his repertoire.  The two released a mini-ablum titled Co-Dependents and continue to tour together and collaborate often.

For his newest cd, Big Big World, Miller tapped Nashville guitarist and producer Doug Lancio (Patty Griffin, John Hiatt). Millers avid fans will realize the title phrase points to the artists new musical horizons, stretching beyond any of his previous works and reflecting his significant growth as a songwriter.
