Herbal Medicine and Harvesting Practices
Join Tina as she shares her knowledge of harvesting herbs and preparing plant roots for drying and medicine-making. The workshop includes an interactive walk among the herb gardens of Sonoma Garden Park. Tina will identify specific medicinal plants and demonstrate her harvesting practices - its the perfect way to learn more about growing medicinal plants for your own use!
Some of the herbs that will be discussed during the workshop can be easily grown in your home garden or found at your local health food store. These medicinal herbs have a long track record of effectiveness as well as a wide range of applications.
Tina Tedesco, a long-time local herbalist, grows her own medicinal herbs and creates a variety of herbal products. She is also a certified Reiki Master and incorporates shamanic energy healing into her work. Herbal medicine is one of her greatest passions and she is eager to share it with all workshop participants!
Sonoma Garden Park is a 6.1 acre public park, working farm, and educational resource. The land was donated to the city of Sonoma in the 1970's by Pauline Bond, a retired schoolteacher and avid gardener. The Sonoma Ecology Center developed and has been maintaining the Garden Park since 1993.
