TODD WOLFE
The Todd Wolfe Band recall the days when "men were men and amps were amps" -- real tubes crackling with a bluesdelic sound reminiscent of the best rock and roll bands of the '60s! This band jams and rocks but their music is deeply soaked in blues. They have established themselves as one of the top power trios in America by their relentless touring and spreading their legend from coast to coast and beyond. Todd's band was formed following his five-year stint with Sheryl Crow as lead guitarist and occasional writing partner. Todd toured the world with Sheryl from 1993 until 1998. Now, with his newest band, Todd Wolfe picks up where he left off 10 years ago -- with his original Bluesadelic-jamming sounds!
"Their sound recalls bands like Gov't Mule and Cream" - Blues Revue Magazine
"Imagine some power trio mixed into a Texas blues foundation and overlaid with trippy psychedelia - that's the essence of Wolfe's music" -Hittin' the Note
Versatility is another one of Rob's greatest assets. Of the countless bands he has been a part of, among the most successful was the Ground Zero Blues Band (80's & '90's), power punk with Zeta Bane ('96 '04), swing with Felix & All the Cats ('04 - '07) and currently with blues-rock/psychedelic trio Ruby Hogg.
While Rob is one of the hardest working studio guitarists, he found the time to record Cracked Actor" on the Skipping Disc label's "Spiders From Venus" female fronted compilation CD of David Bowie material with the rock band Zeta Bane. An internationally accomplished lead guitarist, Rob has been tearing up stages across the U.S. and abroad as a headliner, playing with and opener for national acts such as Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Albert King, Johnny "Clyde" Copeland, Jefferson Starship, Blue Oyster Cult, The New York Dolls, David Johansen Band, Berlin and George Lynch/Lynch Mob, to mention a few.
"Rob is the consummate professional on guitar. He is playing a new Gibson tonight and the sound is sweet and soulful when it needs to be and powerful when that is called for. I find myself paying much attention to his phrasing, being a guitarist myself, I find them unique and quite intelligent." Dennis Halsey, Best Female Musicians .com.
"Imagine a Van-Halen meets Cream guitar tone without all the attached bullshit, and that fairly-well describes Rob Stevens..wicked, tastey chops.you just gotta hear this guy!"... Review by Mike Fornatale, Judge for Little Steven's Underground Garage Competition & A & R for Renegade Records. Performed @ The Crazy Donkey, Farmingdale, Long Island, NY.
It's no wonder that Rob has a significant built-in collective following ranging from his home territory, the New York tri-state area & beyond. If you happen to be lucky enough to sit up close at one of Rob's performances, bring some form of athletic protection!!
