Loopshop 5
Strangeloop Theatre returns for its 5th season with Loopshop 5, the company's annual workshop series, bursting with 6 new works from local playwrights, each performed both nights of this two-night-only run.

Enjoy a great mix of performances, blended from short plays and scenes from full scripts in development. Loopshop 5 highlights new works ranging from the ridiculous to the deadly serious. Join us as we delve into these pieces and become a part of the play development process!

Featured plays:
The Palace by Anthony Ellison (Directed by Keith Gatchel)
Chocolate Girl by David Clark (Directed by Lisa Uhlig)
North & Damen by Maria Burnham (Directed by Carrie Campana)
Thinking Caps by Keith Gatchel (Directed by Michael Wagman)
Meat by Scott A. Miller (Directed by Holly Robison)
The Angel in the Mirror by Darrin Luginski (Directed by Lance Hall)

Performances for Loopshop 5 will be at 8 p.m. on two Mondays, July 23 & 30, 2012 at Chemically Imbalanced Comedy Theatre, 1422 West Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL. Tickets for the show are $10 at the door or online at www.strangelooptheatre.org. TWO PERFORMANCES ONLY!

The 5th season will continue in the fall with What Was Mine to Do, a world premiere play by company member, Dustin Spence (playwright of The Sound of a Yellow Flower). The play examines the War in Afghanistan, its portrayal in the news media, and our ever-shrinking world. The piece was developed in part through the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs DCA Studio Theater Incubator Series.

In addition, Strangeloop will be appear for the first time in the Chicago Fringe Festival with Shadows & Lust, a new work by company member Michael Wagman.

Next spring, the season will close with an original adaptation of Friedrich Schiller's The Robbers, bringing a unique approach to this once scandal-inducing classic in a contemporary and intimate staging.

With What Was Mine to Do and The Robbers, Strangeloop is taking their main productions to a new location. Both shows will be performed at The Side Project Theatre, 1439 West Jarvis Ave, Chicago.
