A beautiful, bold and brave coming-of-age tale about Laila, a Punjabi teenage girl with cerebral palsy who comes to New York City to pursue her passion for writing. Upon her arrival, Laila encounters a world of possibilities and liberal sexualities.

Followed by discussion and reception with the filmmakers. Director Shonali Bose, recognized in the Huffington Post and The Guardian for her film, tackles subject matter rarely explored with such lightheartedness and will discuss the films creative evolution and her personal connection to the themes and characters.
