SuGO Battle Bots for Main Street
This Labor Day weekend you can aid the workers, businesses and residents of Historic Ellicott City while having fun with robots! All proceeds collected from these events will go to Howard County Community Fund Relief to assist those affected by the catastrophic flash flood that devastated historic Main Street. SuGO Battle Bots - Fun for All Ages
SuGO combines NXT Mindstorms with the sport of Sumo wrestling. After your team builds their bot it will be time go to battle in a thrilling tournament. Will your team's bot rule the ring? For more details on SuGO watch the video on your left. Also see www.sugobot.com.
No previous building experience is necessary. Step by step instructions will be available. All materials are provided.
We are running the morning session for younger robot enthusiasts and the afternoon session for older teens and adults.
Session 1
Time: 9:00am - 12:30pm
Ages: 8 to 14 years
Session 2
Time: 2:00pm - 5:30pm
Ages: 15 to Adult
Who Are We?
Green Machine - Reloaded #4318 is a FIRST Tech Challenge 4-H robotics team based in Ellicott City, MD. Our team has run youth SuGO workshops for over five years as fundraisers for our robotics program. We want to help our community rebuild after the devastation caused by the flash flood. Our team is using our robotics skills and know-how to do it. We are grateful to STEMaction for donating the equipment and space for the SuGO Battle Bots for Main Street fundraiser. This would not be possible without their generous support.
STEMaction is a non-profit organization that ignites and nurtures a lifelong passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through events and activities for youth and their families. We support Maryland FIRST's progression of K-12 programs as well as other great STEM activities.
STEMaction is the official Affiliate Partner for the Maryland/DC FIRST Tech Challenge and Maryland FIRST LEGO League Junior programs.
Note: Adults running SuGO Battle Bots for Main Street are screened through the FIRST Youth Protection Program
