Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents Chuck Suchy in "Music & Message" concert.
The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents "Music & Message" on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bemidji High School Auditorium, featuring singer/songwriter and North Dakota farmer Chuck Suchy with songs arranged for orchestra accompaniment.
Through his lyricism, humor, and passion for life on the land, Suchy brings to the stage songs that evoke the timeless stories of farm, family, and the simple joys and trials of life. Suchy has performed at the Smithsonian Institution, the Kennedy Center, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Ordway in St. Paul, as well as on National Public Radio. According to BSO Music Director Dr. Beverly Everett, "Chuck is a storyteller and I love his style. He has a very strong connection to the audience, reaching people of all ages and walks of life. His music makes you laugh, touches your heart, and most of all, it leaves you wanting more."
As is the BSO's summer concert tradition, the Orchestra will also play several "Americana" songs, including well known favorites like "America the Beautiful," "Old Man River," and Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."
Tickets are $10.00 for adults and senior citizens; K-12 students are admitted free. Tickets available at the door or in advance at Lueken's Village Foods North, Brigid's Cross Irish Pub, and online at brownpapertickets.com. Doors open for seating at 7:00 pm. A complimentary ticket to the Suchy concert is included with the purchase of a "Tune & Topics" BSO Season Ticket, good for six subscription concerts this year. Season Tickets are $60 and are available at the door on July 14th, through the BSO website, www.bemidjisymphony.org, or call 218/444-7914.
