COTE: Join AIA Orange County For a Tour and Presentation of ARTIC
Orange Countys new transportation hub, the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, or ARTIC, is a LEED Platinum, state of the art facility. ARTIC provides users a network of transportation choices from Metrorail to UBER, Amtrak to Anaheim Resort transportation. ARTIC continues to grow as a transportation gateway and mixed-use activity center.
Learning Objectives:
1.Attendees will learn about the complex design requirements for intermodal transportation centers
2.Attendees will learn about ground water replenishing systems
3.Attendees will discuss reduced energy consumption to achieve LEED platinum status
4.Attendees will experience the impact of the American Disabilities Act (ADA) on transportation facilities.

Ernest has been a leading designer at HOK for over 30 years. His contributions to HOK's portfolio have been highly regarded on both sides of the Pacific. Through his use of sustainable materials and unique style, Ernest's designs consistently achieve a successful balance between the client's requirements and aesthetic goals.
Ernest's passion for urban design and "gateway" projects led him to develop an impressive repertoire of transportation, and government headquarters projects. Ernest led the design team for the much-feted Hong Kong Airport Master Plan and Terminal Building one of the largest infrastructure projects in the world. He was also the master-mind behind the Sendai International Airport design, which won several awards including the AIA Hong Kong Chapter Merit Award, the Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) Award, and the AIA St. Louis Chapter Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture. Ernest recently completed the design for the Central Japan International Airport (CHUBU), which won the ACI Quality Service Airport Excellence Service Award and has been featured in such publications as Airports International and Passenger Terminal World.
