The Stars Come Out: ASB features Clint Foreman, Flute Boston Symphony
The Austin Symphonic Band presents a selection of symphonic band works featuring incredible guest artists alongside the 90+ community members who perform in the ensemble.

Clint Foreman joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra as Second Flute at the start of the 2011-12 season. Formerly a member of the New World Symphony, Clint has performed with the Houston Symphony, Austin Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Ballet, and the Florida Grand Opera. He was a Tanglewood Music Center fellow in 2005 and 2006 while concurrently pursuing doctoral studies in the studio of Leone Buyse at Rice University. Clint completed his Master of Music degree as a student of Linda Chesis at the Manhattan School of Music, and he received bachelor's degrees in both music and music education from the University of North Texas where he studied with Mary Karen Clardy.

Clints Austin Roots

Clint began playing flute in the 6th grade at Westview Middle School where his band directors were Verda Herrington and Luis "Chico" Portillo. He later attended Pflugerville High School and worked with band directors  Douglas Kincaid, Bill Haehnel, and Cathy Eberling Bennett. During the spring of Clints senior year, Mr. Kincaid passed away and a scholarship was created in Mr. Kincaid's name for which Clint was the first recipient.

Clint first played with ASB at the end of his sophomore year of high school (1996) for the Mother's Day and Father's Day concerts at Zilker Park, which was the first time all three generations of his family shared the stage at one time (Clint, his mother Beverly Lowak, his father Tom Foreman and Beverlys dad Johnny Bruner have all been members of ASB). Clint played with ASB during the fall of his senior year and performed with the group at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago in December 1997.
