Big Blue World; Bees Deluxe opens!
Big Blue World, a roots-based band from Boston, MA combines 3-part harmonies layered over rock and world beat grooves and has developed a unique sound that moves smoothly from original reggae and psychedelic rock to West African and Cuban music.
Big Blue World is composed of Conor O'Brien on guitar, mandolin and lead vocals, Chris Chitouras on acoustic and electric guitar and vocals, Keith Kirkpatrick on electric, and upright bass and vocals and Frank Laurino on percussion and drums. Bees Deluxe is a full-tilt, acid blues/funk/rock collective comprised of Boston-based musicians. Their unique repertoire includes over three sets of foot-stomping originals and 60s, 70s, and 80s covers from Little Feat, Billie Holiday, Amy Winehouse, B.B.King, Etta James, ZZ Top, Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt, Curtis Mayfield, Albert King, Bobby 'Blue' Bland, Jimi Hendix, SoulLive, Derek and the Dominoes, among many others. Taking the road less traveled, they discover and share off-the-beaten songs and instrumentals and fuse them into their own original works.
