An Evening with the New Orleans Suspects
Durango Acoustic Music, aka DAM, proudly announces an evening with the New Orleans Suspects on Friday, August 26th at the VFW Hall in Durango. Together since 2009 the band is comprised of some of the most seasoned and highly respected players in New Orleans. This powerhouse supergroup includes Mean Willie Green, drummer for the Neville Brothers for over 30 years. Holding down the bass line is Reggie Scanlan, who logged 33 years as bassist for The Radiators. On vocals and lead guitar theyre joined by Jake Eckert, long-time lead guitarist for The Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Classically trained pianist CR Gruver is on keys and along for the ride also is Jeff Watkins who spent 12 years leading the James Brown Band. His soaring saxophone solos rally the deep-seated New Orleans groove brought by the rest of the band.
With this kind of experience, be ready for a raucous night of swampy rock and bona fide funk! Join us for what promises to be a really fun DAM show with The New Orleans Suspects! This is an all-ages show and the dance floor will be open. A full bar will be available, please be ready to show ID. Tickets are $28 general admission and are on sale now at Animas Trading and Southwest Sound in Durango and on our website durangoacousticmusic.org.
