Centralia is a completely unscripted show that consistently wows audiences with big laughs and theatrical hyjinks. A cross between Blue Man Group and Monty Python, Centralia spins scenes that dip from real to surreal to completely bizarre and hilarious.
Centralia creates every unique show on the spot, writing it as they perform it. It's improvisation like you've never seen before. Unfolding like a dream, each scene blends into the next with no signs of where it's all headed until the end -- when it all adds up, having answered questions you didn't even know were asked. It's comedy that gives you a sense of the amazing, and it must be seen to be believed.
Centralia is Matt Higgins, Jay Rhoderick, Kevin Scott and the musical talent of Josh Sitron, who seamlessly scores each show with just the right combination of poignancy and irreverence. They have been performing improv together for an astounding nine years in several incarnations, including the legendary Burn Manhattan.
Centralia is also pleased to host special guests -- The Modern Kids.
After playing a month of previews to packed houses at Juvie Hall, The Modern Kids present their first full-length sketch show. If you saw them in October, you're probably still humming that tune about the woes of borough life every time someone even mentions the G train. Or reconsidering what your answering machine greeting says about your relationship. Now, they reprise those popular sketches and mesh in plenty of new material in that same playful, sophisticated style.
