One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
The play is set in a mental asylum in the Pacific Northwest. McMurphy, a charming rogue, is sent to the asylum after convincing his prison guards that he needs
psychiatric care.

CAST

Chris Bailey (Nurse Ratched)

Chris is thrilled to be working with PCT again and in one of her dream roles! With PCT, Chris appeared as Kate in Brighton Beach Memoirs and Delia in Bedroom Farce. Other recent shows have included Twist and The Divine Sister (Rogue Theatre), Drinking Habits (Bay Players), The Women and Jake's Women (Nemasket River), Dixie Swim Club (North River), Role Play (Your Theatre) and several one acts with Hollywood & Vine. She lives in Plymouth and loves the fact that PCT has given her a chance for quality theatre close to home! Many thanks to this awesome cast and director!!

Emily Banks (Candy Starr)

Emily is thrilled to be taking part in her first show with PCT. A Communications major at Boston College, Emily recently returned to the stage for the first time since high school, in the role of Titania in the university's rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream. In previous years at the Berkshire and Taft schools, she was involved in several productions, including My FairLady (u/s Eliza), Macbeth (Lady Macbeth), The Actor's Nightmare (Sarah), and Beyond Therapy (Charlotte Wallace). Emily would like to extend her thanks to family and friends for their encouragement and support and to the cast and crew for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful company.

Richard Bodurtha (Martini)

Richard is back to the theatre after a long hiatus in the role of Martini. He has acted in several amateur productions, playing character roles in shows ranging from Othello to Sunrise At Campebello. He has also played in Our Town, starring in the lead as the Stage Manager. He is employed as a manager in the labor relations department of the state prison system (and as you will notice, is quite at home here on the ward).

Ted Bosen (Chief Bromden)

Theodore is a Plymouth trial attorney of Greek descent who, inspired by the dynamic theatrical performances of his two children in high school drama, suspected the trait might run in his ancestral bloodline and began auditioning for theater himself. He has since appeared in two Plymouth productions, playing Amour Balducci, a singing plastic surgeon, in the PCT musical, Money, Power, Murder, Lust, Revenge...and Fabulous Clothes!, and Editor Webb in the Plymouth Rock Live Theater production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town. In this, his third attempt at theater, he plays Chief Bromden, a catatonic inpatient in a mental institution. (Please don't let on that you've seen him here in Cuckoo's Nest as his wife disapproves of his theatrical avocation and, if she finds out he's done it again, will see to it that his next role as an institutionalized catatonic will not be an act.)

Theresa Chiasson (Sandra)

Theresa is happy to be sharing the stage with such a talent and diverse group of actors. She was recently seen on the PCT stage in Steel Magnolias and The Dining Room. The week before Cuckoo's Nest opens, she will have just finished directing an amazing group of young men and women in Alice in Wonderland, JR at Bay Players in Duxbury, and she is currently appearing in Red Circles, The World's Worst Director, and Family Problems, three webseries produced by Angelwood Productions out of Barrington, RI. In her "spare" time, she is a nurse....a bit nicer than Ratched, she hopes!!

Paul Kandarian (Ruckly)

Paul makes his debut with PCT in this production. As a full-time freelance writer, he got the theater bug six years ago doing a story on Trinity Repertory Company and has been in more than a dozen shows since, most recently as the Rev. T. Lawrence Shannon in Night of the Iguana at Your Theatre in New Bedford, and Robert in Pinter's Betrayal at Nemasket River Productions. He's done many shows at the Marion Art Center, including Uncle Vanya, The Fantastiks, and Annie, is in two web series and has done television commercials for a South Shore appliance company. In Cuckoo's Nest playing profane patient Ruckly, he is quite at home with the language.

Jon LeClair (Aide Turkle)

Jon is from Plymouth and is very excited to be making his debut performance on stage! He is a construction worker by day and a lifelong South Shore resident.

Dennis Lewoczko (Billy Bibbit)

Dennis has been performing on stage his entire life. Whether it be the crib, the classroom, or the Plymouth waterfront, he has always been expressing his love for theatre and music. Dennis has performed in several different shows, including two with PCT. He currently operates "Sachem Tree Service" - a tree removal service - with his father. He intends to go back to school to be a teacher. Dennis would like to thank his family, friends, and all of those who support his dreams.

Phil Markella (Dale Harding)

Phil began his performing career at a very early age by singing Edith Piaf songs for his mother's dinner parties. After years of singing in rock bands, he went back to his roots in the theatre. His first role was as Bud in the Parsippany Community Theater's update of Death of an IT-Salesman. Since then, he has performed for the great Sally Hull with the Hat Trick Theater Group, and was cast in Almost, Maine with PCT. For the past two years, Phil has served as the President of the Bay Players of Duxbury and has appeared in Plaza Suite, Our Town, and On Golden Pond. He is very happy to be cast in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, which in a way is a return home. He looks forward to once again embarassing his children.

Paul McCuen (Scanlon)

This is Paul's first opportunity to work with PCT. Over the past few years, he has also performed with Hingham Civic Music Theatre in productions of Carousel and Annie, as well as with the Bay Players in Our Town and The Man Who Came to Dinner. His favorite roles were with Hat Trick Theatre as the Reverend Lionel Toop in See How They Run and Pizza Face Patrillo in Lie, Cheat and Genuflect. Paul wishes to thank his wife Dottie for her patience and support in his theatrical endeavors.

Kevin Morrow (Randle McMurphy)

This is Kevin's debut at the Plymouth Community Theater. He and his family recently moved to Massachusetts from Wisconsin. Kevin has appeared in many plays in the Midwest, including; Noises Off, Funny Money, The Nerd, Bus Stop, and Glengarry Glen Ross. In real life, Kevin is married to Helen and has 3 children; Hillary, Joey, and Sutton. He is the New England Regional Sales Manager for Kimberly-Clark. Kevin would like to thank his family for their support during the time away from home.

Joshua Patino (Aide Warren)

Joshua comes to us from the great state of Texas, where he earned his B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from the University of Arlington. This is his third performance with Plymouth Community Theatre; you may remember him as Demetrius from A Midsummer Night's Dream and as Andrew in Love Letters. Joshua would like to thank the cast, crew, and Board for this opportunity. On a personal note, he would like to thank his family for their continued support.

Mike Pevzner (Dr. Spivey)

Mike's been acting and directing on the South Shore since the 1970's,principally at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, where he was Fine Arts Director until his retirement, and for the Bay Players of Duxbury and Curtain Call Theatre in Braintree. He last directed Over The River And Through The Woods for Nemasket River Productions of Middleboro. His last acting stint was in Glengarry Glenn Ross at the Boston Center for the Arts. Mike lives in Kingston with his lovely and talented wife, Carol.

Craig Whitford (Cheswick)

This is Craig's debut with Plymouth Community Theatre. He would like to thank Liz Bettencourt for this wonderful opportunity. Past roles include Robert Fryburger in Lie, Cheat and Genuflect, Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol, Carr Gomm in The Elephant Man, Speed in The Odd Couple, Detective Porterhouse in Run For Your Wife, and Glen Cooper in Rumors, all with The Hat Trick Theatre. Other recent roles include Mervin Kant in The Sisters Rosensweig and Doc Gibbs in Our Town, both with The Bay Players of Duxbury. Love to MJ.

Melissa Wolfert (Nurse Flinn)

Melissa is excited to be working with this wonderful cast in her first show at PCT. In college, Melissa played such roles as Emilia in Othello and Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and also directed The Comedy of Errors. In the real world, Melissa is an English teacher and camp counselor.

CREW

Elizabeth Bettencourt (Director)

Elizabeth was last seen on the local stage as Sylvia in last summer's Bay Players production of Sylvia. Prior to that, she directed both MOMologues and Bedroom Farce for PCT, and played Ruth in their production of Book of Days. She has also been seen in numerous New Bedford Festival Theatre productions at the beautiful Zeiterion Theatre. Liz is the English department head at Plymouth South High School, and has recently earned her Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University. She also holds a BFA in Theatre and a BOS in Secondary English Education from the University of Rhode Island, and a Masters in Reading and Literacy from Endicott College. Much love and thanks, as always, to Matt.

Jess Wilson (Stage Manager)

Jess Wilson has over 20 years of professional and community theater experience as an actor, tech, designer, producer, playwright and director.
