Ten years ago a heinous act changed Samuel's life. For a decade, he never strays far from his beloved Thames, sleeping rough and keeping himself to himself. Until he meets Tom.
Inspired by true events, Mooring confronts riverside homelessness, remorse, and how we come to terms with our past.
Programmed as part of Totally Thames Festival 2016, Mooring opens in the Brunel Museums remarkable Thames Tunnel Shaft. Formerly an entrance hall to the Brunel Tunnel, the cavernous chamber has been transformed into a stunning performance venue. Vocal Point presents the premiere of its first London-based performance in partnership with Thames Festival Trust and the Brunel Museum.
Vocal Point was founded in Glasgow in 2013. The company strives to create raw, socially-engaged theatre, whilst working with local communities and organisations. Their portrayal of two homeless Glaswegians in the critically acclaimed show Bloom toured Britain and Greece in 2014, before the company relocated to London last year. Their previous shows Splintered and The Brains of The Family grappled with bipolar disorder, fatherhood and family life. The company runs weekly drama sessions at Ladbroke Grove's 240 Project.
Online sales close at 6:45pm each night. Tickets may be available on the door (cash only).
There are no free cash withdraw ATMs near the venue.
