Scottish Radical Herbal Gathering 2016
The Gathering will be an exciting opportunity for lay and clinical herbalists, herb growers, community activists, health workers and likeminded folks to come together and explore current issues and struggles relating to health, environmental and social justice. As a Network we believe in placing herbalism into the wider context of social change, and the Gathering is based around three themes: Radical Health & Herbalism; Sustainability, Social & Environmental Justice; and Scottish Health and Herbal Heritage.
The Gathering will run over three days, from Friday 9th September to Sunday 11th September, and there will be a selection of practical workshops, herb walks and discussions and skillshares including: - Herbalists Supporting Camps in Calais & English Anti-Fracking Camps, the Politics of Health, Introduction to Permaculture, Cerebral Palsy: Lived Experience; Herbal Pharmacy as Direct Action; Creative & Meditative Approaches to Herbalism; DIY Women's Health, Herbs & Fertility; Soul Midwifery; Seaweeds; Medicinal Mushrooms with a Fungi Foray; Men's Health & Responses to Patriarchy; Bioregional Medicine; Refugee & Asylum Seeker Solidarity;
(The workshop programme is still being confirmed and for up to date information, check our website www.radicalherbalscotland.co.uk).
The Gathering is offered on a sliding scale basis, so please pay what you can afford between £20 to £80 for the weekend. Under 15s tickets are by donation.
Accommodation will be camping, and we will be providing meals on site with vegan & gluten free food available at every meal. Meal tickets will be available at the Gathering. All ages welcome, for FAQs about the event, please visit the website.
