Otsukimi Moonviewing Festival 2016
A Japanese Moonviewing Festival Friday, October 14, & Saturday, October 15, 2016 6:30 9:00 PM
Otsukimi, or Japanese Moonviewing, is a traditional Japanese Celebration of the full moon. It is a unique, informative and intimate event. This honored tradition is celebrated at the garden every year and has consistently sold out.
Due to high demand of this unique event we are extending the invitation to our guests for two nights. By doing so, we will preserve the peaceful serenity of this event while also being able to accommodate all our guests. We will light up the garden with candles and luminaries, please guests with entertainment from our talented musicians, offer traditional food, and leave guests with a feeling that they were a part of something special. A traditional Japanese tea demonstration will also take place at an additional cost.
Guests will be served authentic Japanese tea by our tea ladies dressed in kimono in our tea garden. It is an experience that rarely takes place during regular operation hours. Space is limited. The cost for this demonstration is an additional $10.00 and is purchased at the event.
