The Da Vinci Plugin
6 meetings: 6 - 9 pm
Mondays and Wednesdays June 25 - July 10

Final presentation: July 16

NOTE: basic drawing experience is helpful but not required

During this 8-meetings course we'll plug into the versatile mind of the artist-engineer, Leonardo Da Vinci. Da Vinci has left us with only about 20 paintings and ... 6000 notes on topics such as warfare, flight, anatomy, robotic, geometry, architecture, painting and more. During each meeting, we'll study one of Da Vinci's areas of interest and drafting techniques to convey information. As we review contemporary artworks in the areas of his study and inventions, we will focus on exercising our own capacity to invent. Each class we'll work on a new drawing, Da Vinci style, in pencil, pen and ink, integrating image and text.

For the final presentation, each student will select one drawing to frame and hang and choose from his drawings a design to tattoo on ourselves using henna.

Round watercolor brush number 10
Sepia tone calligraphy ink
