Sister Tree
Kerri Joy and Dee Brust met in 2013 as part of a MN Arts Board grant project, instantly recognized the alchemy of possibility in spontaneous harmony lines, and have performed together in a wellspring of creative energy ever since.  Kerri is from NW Montana, and brought her Old Time and bluegrass ornamentation to the Celtic session music of New York, Texas, and Minnesota.  She has fiddled and sung with Celtic, Funk, Jazz, Country and Classical ensembles and performed leading roles in stage productions of Evita, Othello, as well as appearing with Wookiefoot and most recently, the Wild Colonial Bhoys. Soaring leads and ethereal melodies and harmonies are her trademark.  Dee is a teacher and mother of five, and lives with her family in NE Minneapolis.  Dabbling with music and performance since she was a tot, Dee has reveled in opportunities to share her work with childrens choirs and ensembles, at Celtic and International Festivals, the MN Renaissance Festival, environmental and educational events, parks and nature centers, churches, Irish pubs, classrooms, and best of all, Bedtime.  Dees percussive guitar, meandering mandolin, and sparkling vocal lines weave her unique expression into the grand tapestry of music that is at the heart of every moment.  SisterTree has performed for Honor the Earth, the Irish Music and Dance Association, Heart of the Beast's May Day Festival, at the Cedar Cultural Center to open for folk icons The High Kings and Boiled in Lead.  They released their debut album in 2015. With every performance, SisterTree seeks to transport listeners to timeless spaces evoked by their passionate and distinctive delivery of folk music. From lilting lullabies to rollicking tune sets, they explore with an independent spirit, roving over the wild and storied landscapes of the adventurous heart.
