Courageous Women's 4 Year Anniversary & Special Presentation on Prostitution
Hello Courageous Women Supporters!!! Join Courageous Women Association and Founder / Jefferson Award Winner, Toshonna Ross, in celebration of our 4th Anniversary Celebration and Special Presentation on Prostitution and the effects that Human Trafficking, Drugs, and Abandonment have on women and young girls in Prostitution.
Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 3:00pm, Piedmont Veteran's Memorial Building in Oakland
Special Guest Speaker includes, Jane Anyango, Founder of Kibera Women for Peace and Fairness, and Chair of World Vision Kibera Area Development Project Kenya, will join us in speaking out about human trafficking that young girls as young as 10 years of age, are forced into, in Africa. We will also have a representative from H.E.A.T. Watch, in Oakland, and a very special spoken word, dance, and singining performance.
We are working to bring our Community leaders, law enforcement, school systems, transportation agencies, domestic violence, homeless and transitional shelters and centers, and healthcare providers all under one roof to advocate, bring awareness, and together work on long-term solutions that will help our women and young girls across the world, trying to get off the streets, a safe place for them to live and support groups to help them change and rebuild their lives.
Be a part of the solution! Your donations will help Courageous Women create workshops and support groups designed to build esteem, educate, provide employment training and job opportunities, and most importantly, help these women and young girls regain a sense of self worth.
Tickets are $45. You can purchase tickets online at www.courageouswomen.org, under the "In The News" tab, or through Eventbrite at http://courageouswomen.eventbrite.com. You may also mail payment payable to: Courageous Women, 1714 Franklin Street, #100-276, Oakland, CA 94612.
