Paradise In Harlem
All Saints Church in Harlem invites you to, Paradise in Harlem, a one night dinner event on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 5pm. Hidden between the Venetian Gothic architecture of the church and the rectory is the perfect outdoor space to dine alfresco. It feels so private and exclusive like you are in paradise; hence the dinner buffet borrows its name from a 1939 movie shot in Harlem.
The idea to open up the unique space for a fundraiser came to Fr. Jude Uwaoma Nwachukwu while getting some air under the stars. After a quick site survey, the fundraising team was inspired by the space. As the space can only be accessed through the rectory, this is the only event of its kind for 2012.
"The space is so cool and who knew. It is like finding a hidden jewel or being privy to a secret." said one of the fundraisers. Another said, "It is like a cool hiding spot you would read about in a Dan Brown novel."
In addition to a full selection of summer food favorites, music and open sky, there will be a silent auction to bid on fantastic product and services.
Tickets purchased in advance are $75 ($85 at the door). The price includes a buffet dinner, dessert as well as a complimentary wine or beer.
Due to capacity issues, it is advised to purchase tickets in advance. Unfortunately handicap access is not available and ladies are not permitted to wear stiletto type heels for safety. All requests will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis. It is not guaranteed that public access to this unrevealed space may happen again.
