Michael Daves BIO:
http://www.michaeldaves.com/
Heralded as a leading light of the New York bluegrass scene by the New York Times, Mike Daves has garnered attention for his work with Chris Thile, Steve Martin, Tony Trischka, and Rosanne Cash -- in addition to his solo performances.  His most recent project is Sleep With One Eye Open, the debut album from Thile and Daves, which was recorded live to tape over four days at Jack Whites Third Man studio in Nashville.  The duo makes for "a rip-roaring partnership," says the New York Times.  "Bluegrass, in their hands, gets roughed up in the best possible way, with skill and fervor, and a touch of abandon."  Sleep With One Eye Open received a 2011 Grammy Nomination for Best Bluegrass Album.

Jacob Joliff BIO:
http://www.yondermountain.com/the-band/jake-jolliff/
Jacob Jolliff has been playing the mandolin since he was seven years old.  Growing up in a musical family, he got his start taking lessons from his dad, Bill, a well-known Oregon banjo player.  By the time Jacob turned 11, the two were gigging heavily together, and their band was a mainstay at bluegrass festivals around the Northwest.  At age sixteen, after hundreds of gigs and four full-length recorded projects, Jake decided to take a break from working with his dad to explore performing in a variety of other contexts.  He played consistently in a swing group with violin prodigy Alex Hargreaves and worked in several folk and pop duos.  In 2008, Jake joined the New England based new acoustic group, Joy Kills Sorrow.  They released three albums on Signature Sounds, featuring Jake on mandolin.  In addition, they toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Over the years he has also had the opportunity to perform with many other major artists.  He sat in with the David Grisman Quintet on numerous occasions starting when he was 15.  When he was sixteen, he performed on the CBS television network during the Christmas Eve Special.  In 2007, he traveled to France with a group of young musicians led my Mike Marshall to perform at Festival Mandolines de Lunel.  Some of the other artists Jacob has performed with include Ronnie McCoury, Chris Thile, Darol Anger, Sam Bush, Bryan Bowers, Tony Trischka, and the Irish super-group, Solas.  He has also played sessions for countless recording projects and been featured on multiple national radio and television programs.  In 2011 he graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and in September, 2012 he won The National Mandolin Championship in Winfield, KS.
