Benefit Concert for Eric Michielssen at Pear Valley Winery
Join us for a very special evening with Valerie Johnson, Al B Blue, and the Monroe at the amazing Pear Valley Winery in Paso Robles. This concert event is a fundraiser for Eric Michielssen, candidate for San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors, 5th District. Hearty wine country appetizers, served with amazing Pear Valley wines at this unforgettable hilltop location will make this an event not to be missed. Young, or old, come on out. Bring the family and show your support. This is a "Family Friendly Event" children 12 and under free!
The evening will start off with Singer and washboard player Valerie Johnson and Guitarist and Dobro player Al B Blue as they create a beautiful musical tapestry with their intricately interwoven rhythms and leads.Valerie is an earthy lady with unearthly silk-and-steel vocal chords, who, with brilliant, innovative support from Al B. We will finish off the evening with The Monroe. An eclectic band, that draw influences from many genres of music. Combining tones of Soul, Rock and Roll, Reggae/Ska, Gospel, and Folk. Glen Starkey, of the New Times SLO said in a quote of the band, "The Monroe seems to have come out of nowhere, but now seems destined for greatness. Id been hearing rumors of a powerful vocalist and a group of talented young musicians playing small gigs here and there and wowing audiences, but these rumors did little to prepare me for just how powerful this ensemble is."
Proceeds from this show go to Eric Michielssen for Supervisor 2016. Eric's diverse background as a farmer, businessman, and educator uniquely qualify him to be our next 5th district Supervisor. Eric is running against well funded incumbent Debbie Arnold for a seat that will be determined in the Presidential Primary on June 7, 2016. Electing Eric would return common sense and integrity to the 5th district seat.
