APAC RECIPE FOR SUCCESS--Postponed until OCTOBER 7
A Luncheon to honor the work and contributions of our Dance walk-on coach: Oscar Gonzalez

A delicious 3 course luncheon with entertainment, silent auction and opportunity drawing to support the Performing Arts Conservatory at Anaheim High School

Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn ...
I am not a teacher, but an awakener."  Robert Frost

Oscar Gonzalez has been an incredible mentor and role model to the Performing Arts students at Anaheim High School. On June 3, 2012, professionals from the LA theater community, Disney, business partners, and local colleges attended our first successful senior recital. Senior Dance, Theater, and Music students worked with professionals to create a capstone project completely produced by students. Oscar directed the APAC 2012 graduating senior class and helped co-produce the senior recital with a non-profit dance and education company that is partners with the APAC program. It takes a village to raise a child and so we need parents, partners, faculty, and friends to support the students and teachers for continued success.

You can help support the arts by attending the APAC Recipe for Success White House Luncheon, October 7th, 2012. The APAC Boosters along with Bruno Serato are hosting the 3 course culinary cuisine and entertainment in the new West Wing from 12:30-3:30, tickets are $50 or $90 for 2 and seating is limited. Reon Howard, past president of APAC boosters of Boydstun Realty, is the chair of the event for more information 703 N. Anaheim Blvd. Anaheim CA 92805, 714-774-0555 Boydstun Realty. The APAC Boosters are a non-profit, 501C3 organization.

The event will honor the work and contributions of our Dance Walk-on Coach, Oscar Gonzalez.
Oscar, an accomplished dancer/choreographer who currently works for Disney, trained at American Ballet Theater in NYC, and has performed in dance and theatrical venues throughout Southern California and in Saudi Arabia; has been working at AHS with Meg Elder for the past 5 years. He has taught summer classes, helped to produce Performing Arts school events, prepared performers for festivals, concerts and gala performances, and has mentored students from the Performing Arts Conservatory. APAC has been blessed with the talents of Oscar and the 20+ professionals that have performed for the Performing Arts Conservatory Galas. Because of Mr. Gonzalez, students at Anaheim High School have had the privilege of professional guest speakers and Master classes with professional choreographers, singers, actors and directors.

Oscar demands a professional attitude, and requires students to reach higher expectations to attain the skills and work ethic needed in careers and colleges in the 21st century. Our faculty, parents, community members, Alumni association and school board members personally know Oscar and his amazing contributions to our students and have all been impressed by his devotion to our school. Oscar is a graduate of Anaheim and embodies the motto, "Once a Colonist, always a Colonist," he has been dedicated to giving back to his community and school and we have been honored by his work and presence in the classroom and on stage.

Many of our former APAC students have come back to support the arts programs as audience members or mentors and are currently attending UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, CalARTs, UC Santa Cruz, CSU Fullerton, Cal Baptist, Biola, Columbia College/Chicago, NYU, and Pace University in New York City . Others will be majoring in dance, psychology, technical theater and will be attending Santa Ana, Cypress, Fullerton, and Riverside Colleges. Without this program, faculty and professionals who have partnered with our school, APAC could not survive.
