NATURE RITUAL: A COMMUNION WITH THE WILD
In the Dagara tradition, young initiates are formally introduced to the magic and mystery of Nature in a ceremony of being still and observing, similar to the Native American vision quest and countless other indigenous rites of passage practiced in all corners of the world for thousands of years.
In the presence of the sacred shrines East Coast Village, participants will be guided through teachings of the wheel of life, Dagara cosmology, soulful interaction with nature, personal ritual and ceremony and wilderness safety. Participants will then be sent into the forest, observing the three taboos of solitude, fasting and exposure to the elements. After their return there will be a celebration of their journey, a ceremonial hearing of their time in nature and preparation for their return to their lives back home.
