Catastrophe Weekend!
Catastrophe Weekend is on course for downtown Mobile! This action and celebrity packed two-day event is scheduled to hit Mobile on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. At the center of the vortex will be Sean Casey, the star of the IMAX film Tornado Alley, with his formidable twenty-two foot long, custom built Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV2). Just off the roads from chasing this tornado season's most fearsome storms, Sean Casey will personally introduce his IMAX film Tornado Alley, and interact with Exploreum guests, allowing them to connect with the science and technologies of severe weather research, up close and in person!

Your favorite Meteorologists from FOX10 News will be making special appearances throughout the weekend and sharing their personal experiences as the region's trusted weather experts. They will also discuss the science of weather and the unique and awe-inspiring phenomena that occur in the Gulf Coast region.

Budding storm chasers and self-proclaimed "weather geeks" of all ages can enter to win one of eighteen coveted spots to ride alongside Sean Casey in the TIV2 during Catastrophe Weekend. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Exploreum's Box Office leading up to Catastrophe Weekend. They are $2.00 each, or $10.00 for six.

Our beloved area emergency, rescue and first responders, including the Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross and their twenty-three foot long Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV), the Mobile Police Department, and Mobile Fire and Rescue Department will be on site to teach the public about natural disaster safety and preparedness, as well as spark interest in careers in their fields.

Rounding out the weekend will be three special showings of Hurricane on the Bayou. The film carries audiences on a journey deep into the soul-stirring heart of Louisiana  before, during and after the unprecedented devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
