Why Not Home? Auditorium Overflow
Please note: If you purchase tickets for this event through this link, you are purchasing tickets for Auditorium Overflow. We have added a second auditorium because the first auditorium of 250 seats sold out! If people try to switch seats with someone in the main auditorium, it means someone else will get booted, so please stay in the auditorium you have purchased tickets for. We can't guarantee that there will be room in the main auditorium for everyone to attend the panel discussion. However, you will be able to purchase raffle tickets and have a really good time. Join Thrive Birth Center and The Sonoma County Doula Group for an exciting screening of the locally created and produced documentary Why Not Home? After the screening, we will have an interactive panel discussion with the creators and producers of the film, as well as healthcare providers who have chosen to birth their babies at home, and the birth workers who have served them.
Why Not Home? is a critical and thoroughly researched look at how we are providing maternity care in the US and the choices we are giving women and families about that care. Maternal mortality rates are rising in the US at at time when they are falling in every other industrialized country. Why Not Home? challenges viewers to move beyond the polarization and judgement that has plagued this issue for decades and instead embrace a more integrated and collaborative model for the future.
