Enter the gate and spend a week among growing plants and pollinators in the Kiwanis Learning Garden. With our eyes and hands, feet and ears, we will discover living things in all the garden's corners. Help construct a sunflower house. Cook up a tasty snack from fresh-picked greens. Watch the hummingbirds and wade in cold water pumped from the windmill. Who's the producer and who's the consumer?;; Activities include games, art, hands-on experiments and a DynaTheather show. Each session is limited to 16 participants and is taught by two adult instructors.
Aftercare will be available from 3:305:00 p.m. for an additional fee of $;75 per week or $;15 per day. Aftercare payment must be paid by cash or check on the first day of camp at 8:30 a.m.
All classes are scheduled rain or shine. Kindergartners must have experience in full day classes before attending. Museum staff (including instructors, aides and all other staff) cannot disperse prescription or over-the-counter medications. Campers are required to provide their own lunch for full-day programs and a snack and drink for half-day programs. Field trips require a daypack with lunch, water bottle, hat and sunscreen and other items noted in the registration conformation letter. Campers must wear appropriate shoes for field trips, no open toed shoes such as sandals.
The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science reserves the right to cancel any event that does not reach a minimum of 6 participants. A full refund will be given if the session is cancelled by the Museum due to low enrollment.
