A celebration of Boulder's mixed media arts
Every year Voodoo Hair Lounge gathers the masses of Boulder's finest to host the most eccentric shindig (a wig required costume party) for the most worthy of causes. With last year's raging success Voodoo is kicking it up a notch in 2016 (as we know you have come to expect nothing less from us). WigOut V will be held downtown Boulder House (formerly Absinthe House), and will celebrate Boulder itself in all of its artistic glory while partnering with all our favorite creatives on April 30th, 2016. This year we have partnered with Out Boulder and madelife as our worthy causes. Out Boulder is an organization very close to our hearts having educated, advocated, and provided services, programs, and support to Boulder County's LGBT community since 1992. We are also excited to partner with our physical neighbors at madelife; a launchpad for artists and entrepreneurs founded on mentorship, collaboration, and continuous iteration; the backbone of which is their mentorship based Creative Accelerator Program.This year madelife will be matching any funds raised by Voodoo's WigOut to provide a newly conceptualized scholarship through this program, and as a special treat Voodoo Hair Lounge will be covering all overhead costs to ensure that all money raised by ticket sales will go directly to these charities. Several eclectic retailers from all over Boulder have also signed on to style each model for an incredible fashion show in coordination with our amazing team of stylists while we provide continuous entertainment in the form of live music, dj's, cirque performers, and even live artists! Buffalo Exchange Colorado, Common Era, Candy's Vintage Clothing & Costumes, Chelsea Boulder, Umba, and Theatrical Costumes, Etc. and Trendy Boutique will be showing off their styling skills while we dance the night away with The Goonies(Boulder's favorite 80's cover band), Davi-D Arts, and Dj Byron on vinyl. MOTH Circus will also provide cutting edge, contemporary circus performances, fusing live music, stunning visuals, and athleticism to bring you an experience for all of your senses, and local tattoo shop Claw and Talon Tattoo will be serving up some temporary tattoo fun as well as displaying some artwork.
