Slow Food Buzz with Bees Event @ Lubbers Farm
Join us for a fun and educational experience centered around the honey bee. Lubbers Family Farm (owners of Red Rooster Bakery and Cowslip Creamery) embraces sustainable farming practices and works on diversifying our food system by growing plants from the Slow Food Ark of Taste program.
We will be going on a farm tour, hear a bee hive story, visit the egg mobile and maybe collect eggs, tour the gardens to see bees at work and learn about the Ark of Taste program, tour the bakery, and peek through the windows of the creamery. A brief 'bee talk' will be presented by Andrew and Rachelle from Earthkeeper Farm, with time for questions and answers afterwards.
Sweet and savory refreshments using local honey and cheese will be served, and we will sample champagne/honey punch and mead (honey wine).
Earthkeeper Farm's honey, and Lubber's cheese and crackers will be for sale as well.
