FlamencoLIC
American Bolero Dance Company, under the direction of its founder, Gabriela Granados, celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year with the premiere of a new signature production in its home-base of Long Island City, Queens. The production, FlamencoLIC, is a series of concerts featuring a variety of dance and music styles from Spain, taking place at The Secret Theatre, an intimate black box setting that will allow audiences to experience the performances up close and personal.
Directed and choreographed by Ms. Granados, FlamencoLIC showcases popular flamenco and rarely performed dance genres Clásico Español and Escuela Bolera (an 18th century form of Spanish classical dance), along with arias and duets from Spanish operetta (or Zarzuela), performed by some of the finest flamenco and classical music and dance artists from around New York City.
