Tiny Furniture (2010)
For our second season of The Screen at Contemporary we bring you Mumblecore! A movement that came out of the mid noughties US Indi film scene. Think: Woody Allen, John Cassavetes and Richard Linklater made by millennials on a shoe string. This is Independent filmmaking at its very best and your rare chance to see these defining films on the big screen in the UK!
Tiny Furniture (2010) Described as second wave Mumblecore, we follow Aurora, an ambitious film school graduate struggles to make sense of life and love on returning to her parents' home in Manhattan. This smart, witty and achingly realistic portrayal of being young, lost and a bit self- centred and neurotic was the precursor for HBOs Girls. Not to be missed.
