Honey & the Herbs Album Launch
The long awaited launch of Honey & the Herbs new album 'Gloaming on 12" vinyl.

Date: Fri 3rd June 2016
Venue: The Old Hairdressers, Renfield Lane, Glasgow, G2
Time: Doors 8pm

Honey & the Herbs:

It is not often one feels like they are listening to something original, nor are new musical genres frequently invented: Gloaming has potential to pave a new path across musical landscapes. Terms like 'barbershop prog' and 'future lounge' have been coined to try and encompass the sound that Honey & the Herbs create. Their ability to push and pull across genres is truly an experience to behold. It is omni-pop in the making.

"THEIR ENCHANTING SOUND WAS UTTERLY ALLURING...THE COMBINATION OF THE VIRTUOSIC GUITARIST, THE MELLOW BRASS AND BEAUTIFUL FOUR PART HARMONIES CREATED A CHILLED VIBE THAT EVERYONE ENJOYED - IT IS LIKE A SLICE OF HEAVEN" GIGSOUP

Babe:

Originally started by two ex-Findo Gask members, Gerard Black (now with François & the Atlas Mountains) and Michael Marshall(now with Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat), the intention was to take Gerards songs and see them through to their final conclusion, letting them develop naturally along the way. The results are a much darker affair, with Gerards aerialist melodies and baroque chord progressions being enforced with grittier yet spacious arrangements, polyrhythmic percussion, found sound and analogue synths.

WONDERFULLY STRANGE CONFLATION OF WILD BEASTS-ESQUE FALSETTO, A FIDGETY MUSICAL BACKDROP OF CHIMING GUITARS AND DELICATE ELECTRONIC TEXTURES.
THE GUARDIAN

Trudat Sound & Light:

An audiovisual installation + performance exploring ambience and the use of sound and light as sculptural and architectural elements within space. Through the construction of immersive multichannel audio-visual environments and the engineering of ambience they seek to learn about the nature of experience and our relationship with the spaces we inhabit.

"TRUDAT SOUND AND LIGHT COMBINED VISUALS AND SOUND CREATING A HYPNOTISING LIVE PERFORMANCE."
THE SKINNY

Sarah Kenchington:

By combining contemporary thinking with expertise in music, Sarah Kenchington explores an uncommon way of making music with hand-crafted experimental instruments made of all kinds of materials. Kenchington presents her latest creation, The Urchin. This experimental instrument generates a six part, musical score thanks to a colour code. Kenchington will be joined by members of Glad Community Choir to create the performance.

"KENCHINGTON'S WORK OFFERS A CONTEMPORARY MANIFESTATION OF A LONG HISTORY OF THE ARTIST GIVING BIRTH TO MACHINES. YET HER MACHINES ARE ANYTHING BUT AUTOMATA, REMAINING FUNDAMENTALLY DEPENDENT ON AN INTERACTION WITH THE HUMAN TO COME TO LIFE."
