Join us the evening of June 24th from 6pm - 9pm for a vast brocade of music to benefit the JOKHANG TEMPLE.
This benefit concert includes the music of world-class recording artists- the authentic country-western styling of singer/songwriter KILEY EVANS, the soul-stirring piano of PATRICK GORMAN accompanied by JERRY LAGADEC on Native American flute, and the Tibetan Folk sound of PENPA TSERING.
KILEY EVANS is a singer/songwriter of exceptional talent from the South Shore who is at the beginning of what will be a brilliant country-western career. In 2012, she received the "Songwriter of the Year" Award from the Massachusetts Country Music Association, the "Country Act of the Year" Award from the New England Music Awards, and the "Song of the Year" Award from Limelight Magazine. PATRICK GORMAN is a composer and performer of solo instrumental piano pieces. PENPA TSERING, a world-class singer, dancer, and multi-instrumentalist was born in Tibet and undertook an arduous 27-day trek over the Himalaya mountains to freedom. ABOUT THE JOKHANG TEMPLE
The Jokhang Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist center located in Arlington, MA that is dedicated to the practice and study of the Buddha's teachings and the preservation of Tibetan culture in the Boston area. Under the spiritual direction of Venerable Lama Konchok Sonam, the Jokhang Temple is a branch of Tibet's famous Katsel Monastery and is a Tibetan Buddhist pilgrimage site featuring an "emanation replica" of the famous Jowo Rinpoche statue which resides in Lhasa, Tibet. The eight-foot-tall U.S. Jowo Rinpoche statue is the main feature of this pilgrimage site. The Jokhang Temple hosts a variety of great spiritual masters throughout the year, making their teachings available to the greater Boston community, and actively serving the community at large. The Jokhang Temple operates under the auspices of the Drikung Meditation Center, a 501(c)(3) educational organization.
