SYNOPSIS:
Aurora is celebrating her 16th Birthday and the whole kingdom is invited to her party. During the celebration a beautiful bouquet of flowers is given to Aurora from a mysterious woman. Hidden in the bouquet is a spell-bound spindle that the evil fairy, Carabosse, has placed. Aurora pricks her finger on the spindle. Suddenly, Aurora feels dizzy and faints to the ground. The evil fairy, Carabosse, reveals herself and tells all that Aurora has died due to her evil spell.
The good, Lilac fairy appears and assures the King, Queen and their guests that Aurora has not died but is in a deep sleep. The Lilac fairy places a sleeping spell over the whole kingdom and creates a thick forest to hide the kingdom. She and her forest sprites set out to find a prince to break the sleeping spell with a kiss of love.
Years pass and a prince is passing through a nearby forest. The Lilac fairy and her sprites ask him if he loves anyone? He does not. The Lilac fairy create a vision of Aurora and the prince falls in love with the vision. The Lilac fairy tells the prince she will take him to the beautiful princess but he must fight off the evil Carabosse first and then with a kiss he can awaken Aurora. The prince and Carabosse battle. The prince is victorious and Carabosse is banned from the kingdom. The Prince kisses Aurora and the kingdom awakens. Aurora and the prince are to wed. The whole kingdom is invited to celebrate at their wedding.

The 2 act story ballet is approximately 75 minutes long in length + 10 minute intermission.
