Manitoga's Resident Artist Peter Bynum discusses Ecstatic Light his site-specific installation of illuminated paintings on glass for Manitoga's House and Studio. A few of Bynum's ethereal paintings will be on view.
Design curator and Board member Donald Albrecht highlights Russel Wright's spun aluminum line, groundbreaking in the early 1930's and featured this season in an exhibition at Manitoga.

ABOUT NOVO ARTS: Novo Arts was established in 1975 by our host Marlaina Deppe to make fine art accessible to every client. The companys intent is to communicate the value of art for any environment, mediating the interests of the business and art communities through a variety of innovative programs.
ABOUT PETER BYNUM:
Bynum is known for his light-infused sculptural paintings and large-scale installations. His work has been exhibited in Rome, Shanghai, Basel, Paris, Cologne, and throughout the U.S. In 2013, New Yorks Museum of Arts & Design commissioned a large, illuminated triptych. The following year, Bynum was commissioned by the New York Public Library to fill its 5th Avenue windows with 17 large-scale illuminated paintings. His most recent installation for the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art reinterprets his work into ten massive canvases, each 23 ft. high x 16 ft. wide, for the Hudson riverfront in Peekskill, NY. Peter Bynum received his MFA from New York University. He lives and works in the Hudson Valley. For additional information about the artist, visit PeterBynum.com .
ABOUT MANITOGA:
Located in Garrison, New York, approximately one hour north of New York City, Manitoga is the House, Studio and 75-acre Woodland Garden of American industrial designer Russel Wright (1904-1976). One of the few 20th century modern homes and landscapes open to the public in New York State. Manitoga is a National Historic Landmark and an Affiliate Site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
