Spring Break Coding Class
Come join us at Making Awesome for a week of learning the basic concepts of programming. Appropriate for middle school and high school students, as well as adults, this class is designed to take your from having no coding knowledge to understanding the concepts that are important for coding in any language. The class will be taught in Python. The classes will be held over the week of Spring Break, March 14 - 18, from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.
The class starts on Monday evening and runs for five days, one hour per session. The class is being taught using Python, an open source language that is simple enough for kids, but so powerful that scientists use it to control sophisticated instrumentation.
The class is being taught by David Bacum, who says he'll teach you how to think like a programmer. While the course is being taught in Python, the concepts are applicable to other modern programming languages. Look for a registration link tomorrow (Thursday).
The class will be one hour each evening for five days. The class will start on Monday, March 14th at 6PM and continue on Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday and Friday evenings. You can bring your own laptop for the class. We have a few loaner computers available for use in class. We'll get Python loaded on everyone's computer during the first class session.
We're sorry for the short notice, but this will be an excellent class, and it's worth changing a few plans to be able to participate. While the class is open to children and adults, participants under 18 will require the permission of their parents. Participants 15 or younger must be accompanied by a parent.
